The OSI model and network communication
With guidance from Zahid Çufadar, I researched the OSI model and the network processes that take place when a computer connects to the internet.
In the presentation I prepared, I examined:
- The seven layers of the OSI model,
- How data is encapsulated as it moves through the layers,
- The differences between IP addresses, MAC addresses, and port numbers,
- The roles of DNS, ARP, DHCP, and NAT,
- The stages a packet passes through from a computer to its destination server.
I presented what I learned. This work helped me understand that network communication is more than a set of theoretical layers: devices and protocols work together in a coordinated way.
